Reflections for Week of: Feb. 14 and Feb. 16

1. Check list -- What specific tasks from the project checklist did you and your buddy begin, work on, or accomplish? What step are you on the checklist?

So far this week both of my buddies are doing a great job. Right now JJ is working on writing down all of his notes and citations on one of the hand outs. He's almost done with that. Heather finished all of research and is starting on writing down all of her notes and citations on the handout.

2. Summarize your session with your buddy. What went well? What challenges do you encounter? How did you overcome or deal with these challenges?

We really only had one challenge and that was when JJ wanted to use a google site for one of his citations. What we did was find the same information using one of the links from the KUSD site, but it actually brought him to the same site; but we were told that it was okay. I also reminded him to bring a sharpened pencil next time since he was having trouble reading his notes from before.

Heather was having trouble at first finding enough early life information on the person she chose, but we were eventually able to find enough information.

3. Reflections - what did you do well today? How were you supportive? What area do you need to improve in for your next session?

What I need to work on is determining how much support to give them. Like knowing when to step in and help guide them to finding research and when to let them learn how to do it on their own.

4. Plans - what are your plans for the sessions this week? How will you prepare? What will you prepare?

My plan is for Heather and JJ to finish writing down their notes and citations on the handout and then get started working on the hard copy of the storykit book. We should be finished with these next Thursday and either start working on popplet or will be able to start working on popplet the begining of the next week. I told my buddies that I would look for pictures of both of their people, since they figured that would be the hardest part to do without using google.
