March 1- Summary on Annotated Bibliography
Questions for Annotated Bibliography for: “Teaching a Unit Using a Varity of Technology”

1. How did the teacher use technology in this lesson/approach? Details – time, activities, products, etc.
This teacher designed a thematic curriculum that incorporates using the computer, spreadsheets, the internet, and cameras. Students have to research a country and then design their own restaurant that would be there selling authentic food. They have to create a “business plan” and then submit it to the “Bank” showing what their financial needs would be. Then students have to create advertisement for their restaurant (this is where the camera comes in.)

2. How did the students use technology? Details – time, activities, products, etc.
The students used computers to create spreadsheets, make a PowerPoint for a presentation of their business. The students can take pictures of themselves as the “owner” of the business to use for the advertisements that the students make like newspaper articles.

3. How were students assessed? How were students’ content knowledge, skills, and/or technology skills evaluated?
There is a separate rubric that goes with each part of the project this unit goes on for nine weeks. Then an overall rubric used to determine the final grade for groups as well as individual students.

4. How were students provided feedback, remediation, scaffolding?
Students are given feedback from their peers when they present their restaurant to the class. They also get feedback from the teacher as each part of the project is completed. There is scaffolding built into this which is that each group has to complete each step before moving on to the next step and there seems to be a rubric for each step.
